SUMMARY:Bodega Bay
DESCRIPTION:All-day trip to view Pacific coast birds at Bodega Bay\, a world-class birding hotspot. Harbor mudflats\, ocean beach\, and rocky headland for post-breeding seabird and shorebird migration–covering Bodega Bay\, Harbor and Head\, and Doran Beach. \nLikely to be warm but could be windy (wear sunscreen and be prepared for wind chill with layers and hat). SUMMARY:Marin County: Raptor Migration on Hawk Hill
DESCRIPTION:Join Yolo Audubon on a field trip to view hawk migration in action. Now is the time that several species of hawks\, including the Red-tailed Hawk\, Cooper’s Hawk\, Sharp-shinned Hawk\, and perhaps Broad-winged Hawk make their way to southern regions. We will also join the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory’s (GGRO’s) “Hawk Talk” at noon. A GGRO volunteer speaks about hawk migration and identification\, and the work of the GGRO. If we are lucky\, a banding volunteer will bring up a newly-banded hawk\, talk about the banding program\, and release the hawk in front of the crowd. \nThis trip will involve a short but somewhat steep climb\, on a level surface\, to reach the top of Hawk Hill. \nParticipants should plan to meet at the Marketplace Shopping Center\, near Big 5 Sporting Goods in Davis. (West Covell & Highway 113; map below) at 7:00am for the sign-in process. The early start should help us obtain close parking. Expect to return to Davis between 5:00-6:00pm. Participants are free to discuss and arrange ridesharing among themselves. \nIf you plan to meet the group at the location\, follow directions to Hawk Hill on Conzelman Rd\, Sausalito\, CA. After parking\, look for the big banner just west of the main Hawk watching platform on the very top of Hawk Hill. \nBring binoculars\, spotting scope if you have one\, snacks\, lunch and beverages. If you plan on driving\, please RSVP to the trip leader Ken Ealy (530-219-1217 or email) \nThis public outing is free to all participants.

SUMMARY:Point Reyes
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our annual fall field trip to Pt. Reyes. \nFall migration at Pt. Reyes can be spectacular and makes this area a well-deserved birding hotspot.  Depending on the weather\, the numbers and diversity of songbirds passing through the “Outer Point” can be impressive.  In addition to the passerines\, there are usually plenty of raptors and other migrants to enjoy! \nWe will meet at 6:00 AM in the Park-N-Ride lot off of Mace Boulevard (northeast of Highway 80 and just down from Ikeda’s Market) for carpooling. \nPlease bring  a lunch\, plenty of fluids and dress in layers. Be prepared for a full day of birding. \nContact your leader\, Kevin Guse\, at 916-514-0685 for more details.
